Hello,

I am a traditional painter from Honolulu, Hawaiʻi. My paintings explore the interplay between abstraction and representation by deconstructing landscapes from my daily life. I’m drawn to abstracting the familiar and everyday using vibrant colors and collage, which adds an element of spontaneity and unpredictability to my work, achieved by the repetitive push and pull between collage and paint. Allowing the artificiality of material and paint to take over the built environment reflects my anxieties of physical spaces that I inhabit day to day.

Through the realm of painting, my work aims to find unique approaches to communicate with the physical urban environments that have shaped me.
